Folklore group Name: “Stedeker Daansers”

The folklore club the "Stedeker Daansers" from Diepenheim, also called the "Boer'n Daansers". The group was founded during the 20th Liberation Day Celebration of the 5th of May 1965. The initiative came from the country youngsters organisation, called at the time P.F.G.O Diepenheim. A group of youngsters learned some dances at the farm yard from the family Luttikhedde (Erve Bosman). The dances were thought by Erna Luttikhedde-Wes and Riky Bannink-Blekkenhorst, who were formally member of the Deldense group, the "Midden-Twente". This cooperation between the two groups went well. The younger group caught the folklore virus and started up a club. In the club statutes they wanted to honour old traditions and pass them on in the future. Activities which the “Stedeker Daansers” have taken part in are; the dance group have been to festivals in several different European countries. Some of the dances have taken part in America, Africa, Asia Europ. Registration in the Guinness Book of Records 2000.
